Join Minnesota's Tax Cut Coalition and Rally for Relief in 2008

Considering the odds taxpayers faced going into last year’s legislative session, adjournment with no new taxes was an impressive accomplishment. And let there be no doubt, without the pressure the Tax Cut Coalition put on the politicians with our remarkable Tax Cut Rally of almost 7,000 last April (one which drew national attention), Minnesotans would be laboring today under even higher tax rates. Indeed, liberal Democrats in St. Paul came to the Capitol intent on raising taxes, even authoring a bill including the highest top rate in the country!

Nevertheless, as Thomas Jefferson warned, “eternal vigilance is the price of victory.” And that adage has never been more true.  Democrats have promised to not only let the Bush tax reductions of 2003 expire, but coupled with additional tax increase proposals in Congress, hard working Americans are now facing the spectre of the largest tax increase in history at the federal level.  Here in Minnesota, the shameful exploitation of the I35W bridge disaster has resulted in a slew of so-called “transportatiion” proposals, including gas, sales, and even income tax increases (Click here to see potential tax increases).  Add to that a massive bonding bill vote this session (for mass transit and local pork, among other things) and taxpayers are under the gun once again.

Make no mistake, the stand you take in 2008 won’t just determine the year’s budget policies, it may well determine the 2008 election outcome.

So our work must continue. What that means is we are now collecting even more signatures for the Tax Cut Coalition as we prepare for our Tax Cut Rally 2008.  Please join today to find out when and where by signing up below.  And don’t forget to ask your friends to do the same.   In the meantime, stay tuned to the Jason Lewis show weekdays from 4 - 7PM for the latest information on our noble effort to reduce the burden of taxation on Minnesota families!

With warm regards,

Jason Lewis
